This is a writing contest for emerging writers of all ages. The Emerging Writers contest is an opportunity for recognition of talent by featuring their work on the Internet via a website and made available for purchase.
The Emerging Writers contest is open to anyone 18 years of age or older. Void where prohibited or restricted by law or regulation.
This contest will run December 1, 2000 - January 31, 2001. To be eligible to win, you must submit a literary work being featured that quarter, such as poetry, short story, essay, or a nonfiction article. You must submit your literary work of 1,500 words or less along with this form by fax, mail, or e-mail. Completed work must be submitted in the following formats; MS Word, WordPerfect, text file, or typewritten and double-spaced.
All entries must be received on or before midnight January 31, 2001. No purchase is necessary for submission consideration. Winners will be announced on Februay 15, 2000. Winners must grant Writers Help Desk, its parent company or assignee, the right to publish their contest entry works for an unlimited time period under their names and without charge on http://www.writershelpdesk.com. If winners have a self-published book, it will be considered for placement on Writers Help Desk for sale.
Only one entry per person will be accepted. All submissions must be the entrant's own original work, is the sole property of the entrant and has not been published or accepted for publication elsewhere. All judges will be literary professionals, editors, writers, teachers, etc. and all decisions of judges are final.
We are not responsible for entries that are late, lost, incomplete, or illegible for any reason, including but not limited to computer or network malfunction/congestion and any such entries are ineligible. No entries will be returned.
Award Winners - First Place
The winner will be notified by e-mail, fax or telephone. One first place winner will be selected for the Emerging Writer award by category and date. The winner be announced and featured on our website WritersHelpdesk.com. The winner will remain on the website for at least thirty (30) days. Second Place Winner
The winners will be notified by e-mail, fax, or telephone. One second place and one third place will be selected for the Emerging Writer award by category and date.
